Image may contain: 1 person, eyeglasses and text Virginia Theater has some VR demonstrations and films this Friday which is quite the merging of media! It would be an experience for you to check out, as it would give you multiple experiences in one night. Ebert Fest comes around every year and it is always a special occassion. "An added feature of this year's festival will be virtual reality demonstrations on the plaza outside the Virginia Theater between films on April 12, hosted by the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning at the University of Illinois, through its Virtual Reality Lab and Innovation Studio. The demos will consist of short films that allow viewers to experience border crossings, natural disasters or joyous occasions in other countries. "Roger was very much a techie and would have loved the fact that we are bringing VR demonstration to Ebertfest that will give our audience a chance to experience empathy through the lens of technology," Chaz Ebert said."

Image may contain: one or more people, text that says 'INSYNC: CU'S PREMIER LIP-SYNCING CONTEST' Also on Saturday, Lip Sync concert at the City Center! Go from being outdoors throwing color at the Holi Festival, to a shower, dinner, and finally at the Lip Sync, a participator to an observer, just a day full of excitement, either way you have two events that can work around the schedule of a student. "On Saturday, April 13, Champaign-Urbana’s premier lip-sync contest— better known as INSYNC—will take the stage at The City Center. Lip-sync acts featuring many local lip-sync performers will help us raise money for an incredible, yet “small” group of Carle patients. Proceeds from INSYNC 2019 will support Pediatric Therapy Services at Carle. Here, our team treats children of all ages with orthopedic conditions, and pediatric specialists who treat children with more involved developmental diagnoses. With the dollars raised at INSYNC, we will greatly expand what is offered to help young patients get moving with soft foam, compact rock and ladder climbing equipment, specialized mobility enhancements so toddlers can experience the freedom of moving, child-sized exercise bikes and so much more.
